Dr Dale Creamer

Dr Dale Creamer, born in Springs, Gauteng, and raised in Durban, KZN, earned his Medical Degree (MBChB) from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. He completed his internship at RK Khan Hospital and community service at Port Shepstone Hospital, later serving as a Medical Officer in Radiology at RK Khan Hospital for three years. After training in Radiology at Stellenbosch University and obtaining his Master’s in Diagnostic Radiology (MMED RAD DIAG), he received his Fellowship from the College of Diagnostic Radiologists (FC RAD DIAG) in 2021. Following 18 months in private practice, he earned a Fellowship in Interventional Radiology from the University of Calgary in Canada in 2022. While at Calgary, he studied under many Ivy League university trained interventional radiologists as well as Dr Cori Caughlin—his fellowship supervisor, a female interventional radiologist and leader in women’s health in Canada.

Currently, Dr Creamer is the head of Interventional Radiology at Groote Schuur Hospital, serves his private practice at UCT Private Academic Hospital, and is also a senior lecturer at the University of Cape Town. He is an active member of several medical societies. His vision is to grow interventional radiology in South Africa and develop a home-grown sub-specialist training program. Outside of work, he enjoys playing chess, is an avid sports fan, and is known for his great sense of humor.
